Week 5 - Independent Study

Documentary Modes
The chosen mode for this documentary is an 'Expository mode.' The captions gives the audience a statement and the images relate and support it. I used a mixture of track views and cinematic blurs/dissolves in order to make transition smooth. This mode is useful as you can keep content short and it still is comprehensible.

The beginning of the documentary talks about the simulation of the security building and the components to the social society. The very purpose of the security building was to house my first model, something which I think I didn't implement enough in the film. The first bit was in birds eye view most of the time, like a bird flying over the place, where as in the second part, it is in third person, but from a view behind the player.

The cut before the second section signifies the beginning of action. After the caption- "Are they ready?" the music builds to help support the emotion of the caption. The fact that the men were supposed to be on guard at the beginning but seem so relaxed, signifies the time of peace. As soon as the player comes in however, the audience can see that the officers are more than ready to fight and defend the artifact trophy, bringing the whole sense back to the mutation from peace to war.
